Job description

UUG.AI offers an engineering internship in Ghent, providing a real and guided engineering project in one of three tracks: computer vision, data & LLMs, or frontend engineering. The intern works with a dedicated coach, follows milestones, and must deliver a documented result that can be integrated into the platform. The internship combines learning the stack, documenting technical choices, development and testing according to team practices, and regular presentations of progress. The internship is hybrid with regular presence at the Ghent office and has a minimum duration of 3 months; the schedule is adapted with the university to balance the project and academic requirements. The desired profile is a student or recent graduate in a technical program with a background in Python/computer vision, data/LLMs, or TypeScript/frontend. Useful knowledge includes Git, Docker, automated testing, and a portfolio of projects.

Main responsibilities

• Transform an agreed problem into a project plan with milestones and definition of done
• Learn the relevant stack and document engineering decisions
• Build and test a functional solution according to team practices
• Share progress, seek feedback, and adjust the approach
• Document a usable result for the team for potential integration

Profile sought

• Student or recent graduate from a technical program or equivalent experience
• Foundations in Python & computer vision, or data/LLMs, or TypeScript & frontend depending on the chosen track
• Curiosity, clear communication, and a taste for collaborative work on a shared codebase
• Assets: Git, Docker, automated testing, portfolio or substantial project
