The Stadtverwaltung Trier is recruiting a Werkstudent·in for the Social and Housing department, part-time (50%) and contractually limited until 31.03.2028. The role involves assisting in the processing of irrecoverable rental debts (managing debtor files, communication, payment agreements, monitoring titles and limitation periods) as well as processing applications for Wohnberechtigungsscheine (certificates of eligibility for social housing): receiving applications, reviewing access conditions, and issuing (excluding complex cases and appeal procedures). The position is suitable for students enrolled at the university (min. 3rd semester) who wish to gain experience in public administration, law, or management. Skills in office software and possibly basic knowledge in debt management are desirable. Online applications are requested before November 15, 2026.

Main responsibilities

• Manage and maintain debtor files and rental debts
• Communicate with debtors and agree on payment schedules
• Receive and verify applications for Wohnberechtigungsscheine
• Collaborate in the field of housing promotion and resident advice

Profile sought

• University enrollment (at least 3rd semester)
• Knowledge in law or management desired
• Advanced computer skills and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a team and public service orientation
• Desirable experience in file management/administration
